HOW TO PLAY

SongSpot World FAQ

Everything about the music guessing game.

What is SongSpot World?

SongSpot World is a free browser game that plays a fragment of a song and asks you to name it. Each wrong guess or skip reveals a little more of the track.

How do you play SongSpot World?

Press Play to hear the current clip, type a song title into the search box, and choose a suggestion. A wrong guess or skip moves you to a longer clip. Try to name the song from as little audio as possible.

How long are the clips?

There are five stages: 0.1, 0.5, 2, 8, and 15 seconds. You can turn individual stages on or off in the control panel.

Can I really recognise a song in 0.1 seconds?

Sometimes. A tenth of a second may contain enough of a voice, drum, or instrument to recognise a song you know well. You can replay the clue or unlock a longer one.

Does SongSpot World work on mobile?

Yes. The game works on phones and desktop browsers. You only need speakers or headphones.

How is SongSpot World different from Heardle?

Heardle offered a daily song. SongSpot World lets you play unlimited rounds, starts with a 0.1-second clip, and lets you choose a genre, era, difficulty, and clue lengths.

Is this Songless?

No. SongSpot World is an independent song guessing game and is not affiliated with Songless. You can play unlimited rounds, choose your difficulty, and challenge a friend.

Can I challenge a friend?

After a round ends, choose Challenge your friend to copy a link. It opens the same song and difficulty for your friend and shows the time to beat without revealing the answer in the message.

How often can I play?

As often as you like. There is no daily limit. The game remembers up to 4,000 seen songs and up to 4,000 solved songs in this browser. It offers unseen songs first, then songs you have not solved, before starting a new cycle.

How do streaks work?

Each song you name in a row adds one to your streak across difficulties, genres, and eras. Losing resets it. Rerolling is free until you guess or skip; after that, rerolling counts as a loss. Your best streak is saved separately.
